Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us this weekend. We saw so many happy faces, clever costumes, and incredible jack-o-lanterns! Thanks again – and we hope to see you next year.
Sunday Oct 27, 2013 (FREE)
Sure to become a Boston tradition! Bring the entire family to this first annual event featuring floating pumpkin luminaries and a costume parade. Refreshments, music and child-focused activities will make this a spooktacular way to celebrate Halloween.
4:30pm: Bring-Your-Own Pumpkin: Arrive in costume and bring your carved pumpkin to one of the drop-off tents at either end of the pond.
Pumpkins must be 8” in diameter or smaller, and already hollowed out or they will not float! We will illuminate them and float them for you. Watch as the pond fills up with glowing pumpkin luminaries!
5:30pm: Costume Parade! Whether you’re a witch, goblin, princess or superhero—delight everyone as you parade around the pond, aglow with pumpkin luminaries!
The parade will have two starting points, at either end of the pond, making it easy to join in the fun!
4:30-6:30: Rosalita’s Puppets will be entertaining families at the carousel and Kayla’s Magic will tantalize you with her tricks down at the bronze frogs end of the pond. “Bubble Man” Jim Dichter will put on a fun bubble show on the Common.
Take a look at the pictures from last year’s Halloween celebration.
Interact in spooky ParkSCIENCE experiments from Mass Horticultural Society, Bio+Art Collaboration, and Boston Best Bees Company. Delicious treats, refreshments and games from National Dairy Council’s Fuel Up to Play, Archway Cookies, New England Coffee, Magic 106.7 and more!
Bring donations of canned goods for CANSHARE.
